Bolivar is one of my favourite spots in Lagos. Its an outdoor lounge with an open bar concept and Caribbean undertones and is located at Number 20 Wole Olateju Crescent, Lekki (This area is popularly known as "Waterside").
Bolivar is open from Tuesday to Sunday and is the perfect place to go to after a long day at work. The cool coastal air, soft music and open layout add up to a calm and relaxed atmosphere. They have cabanas that groups of people can comfortably lounge on while enjoying each others company. They have gorgeous lights and palm trees, reminiscent of a starry night on the beach, very picturesque!
Bolivar culture is just as laid back and relaxed, people who come here blend effortlessly and its the perfect place to strike up a conversation with a stranger. This is quite rare because most other places in Lagos seem to think the louder their music, the better (ew).
The staff are quite friendly and they have really amazing cocktails. I personally recommend their signature cocktail - The Bolivar (featured below)
The average price/cocktail is about N3,000 ($8.28), a bottle of whiskey (Jameson) goes for N18,000 ($48) and of course they've got a fine selection of beers. They also have ample parking space, so this is not an issue.
For those of you who have a bit of an artistic side, Bolivar has a small gallery upstairs and you can buy pieces if you are interested. Featured below are works by artists Femi Arogundade, Jekein Lato-Unah and more and I will feature a links to their pages HERE and HERE and phone numbers:
Femi - +234 8091020754
Jekein - +234 8182129752
Bonus - They are 420 friendly!
On Wednesdays, they have a secret society event which you'll need a password for and on Fridays a DJ is invited to switch things up a bit.

So, I finally made it down to Bolivar this Sunday. I had wanted to visit since Shala Dub shared this post on a WhatsApp group I belonged to. It was a pleasant surprise! But then I should have trusted Folu's judgment. There were people lounging in the Cabana's they could have been at Tarqua Bay or Miami Beach. Totally relaxed and certainly part of the hip crowd, making me feel slightly dated. There were others sitting at the various tables. I chose to sit on a long bench at one side of the equally long tables off to the side, but I was politely told that it was reserved, on further enquiry, I learnt that there was a minimum spend…

Never been here
Can’t wait to check it out :)
Nice write up bro 😄. Also include how they have special events where only people with the "secret password" can gain access
