So for my 27th birthday (February 18), we did dinner for 2 at HSE Gourmet. This is a spacious and cosy restaurant off the busy Fola Osibo road in Lekki 1. It is located at Number 25 on the quiet Babatope Bejide Crescent and provides a fun and relaxing ambience while you enjoy delicious meals over conversation. They have two floors for dining, so space is not an issue.
They excel in terms of customer service with friendly and polite waiters, and they have a very interesting and easy-to-navigate menu with dishes inspired from all around the world. Curries, sandwiches, pasta or dessert, the choice is yours.
They also play really good music, Hip Hop and RnB tunes since the 2000's, nostalgic homey vibes 🎶
So for starters, we got the Asian Style Crispy Chicken Wings with their house made chilli jam (which i absolutely loved). For our mains, we got the Duck Lasagna, the Chicken Pho and a side of Sweet Potato Fries.
The Duck Lasagna was excellent, they definitely do well on their cheese and pasta dishes.
I was surprised by the Chicken Pho though, I was expecting more authenticity in the flavors and ingredients, but it was a laudable effort (Pho is originally Vietnamese). The Sweet Potato fries were also a bit chunky, but other than that, a good meal!
We ordered a bit too much for 2 people, so their serving sizes are pretty good. Oh, we were drinking lemon water as well.
Pricing is fair for a nice meal in a very nice and simple space. There isn't a lot of parking so you might want to Uber if you don't want a headache.
